microphone help?
i was told shure sm 58 is the best quality mic.
NOW for equipment as in im guessing de-esser? i believe its called, when i sing really high (stu block from Into Eternity high) it doesnt level right when recorded. i have a hardly noticeable small lisp (that i get compliments on =] when noticed!) but while singing, live without the de-esser it might sound more noticeable or add a different effect? very soon im taking lessons to improve my tones & learn proper cord preparation. ive recorded a terrible version of myself singing you can hear it here= www.myspace.com/mortallyagonized
any mics or tools of the trade you would reccomend? or even anything with my voice you would like to imput on, positive or negative =]
i wrote input wrong cause i type fast…obviously i have a unique typing style aswell, sorry if this confuses anyone
Actually, Shure manufactures another Professional-grade mic that may be better suited for your particular situation. If you have had otherwise good experience with the SM58-LC, try the SM48-LC, as it has its presence peak at a slightly different frequency. Electro-Voice, Audio-Technica and AKG are alternate suppliers to consider, especially if you have a finicky recording console in terms of preamplifier design. If your console has phantom power, condenser microphones such as Shure’s SM87-LC and SM96-LC and their competition from the alternate suppliers mentioned above become options.
The de-esser may still be needed, so don’t unload it just yet; it is a useful tool for its designed application.
