Ways to help animals – Top 10 Things You Can Do Today

It is a dream of many animal lovers to something dramatic like starting an animal shelter, or stop the world eat meat (I wish), but sometimes the little things that count. Here are 10 things you can do right now to help animals and make a difference.

1. Go Vegan – Choose a vegan diet is the ultimate form of activism. You are an example and send a clear message that you will not hold for animal cruelty (not to mention the environment destruction). Not only will you help the animals by not contributing to their abuse, but you will become healthier and have a clear conscience. It's a good start if I never heard of. You do not have to live a life of denial to be a vegan. There is an incredible amount of food vegan and if you cook, you can create wonderful dishes that will wow your family and friends. You can make most dishes vegan versions meat with a little thought and creativity. Go ahead, give it a try.

2. Volunteers – If you love animals and want help with one hand on the way, look for animal shelters in the Yellow Pages / online and give them a call to see if you can volunteer. Volunteering with animals or even animal rights office of an organization is incredibly rewarding and a great help.

3. Leafleting – Contact your organization for animal rights, or online at sites like PETA and animals in Australia and order pamphlets on a question of animal rights you like. If you have a decent printer, you can download literature immediately. Once your brochures arrive, you can walk around your area and post them on mailboxes. You can also leaflet in public places like shopping malls or universities. Students are often very open to change.

4. Write a letter – I have set myself new year a resolution this year to write at least one letter a week regarding an issue of animal rights (goodness know that there is sufficient choice questions). You can write to the editor of a local newspaper about a local problem (such as the circus or a rodeo come to the city), or write directly to a company that tests on animals in order to ask them to rethink the cruelty they inflict. Spread the word about animal rights can really make a difference and it's something you can do right now.

5. Spend time with your pets – For those of you who have pets, it is important to take time for them every day. Not only for essential goods such as feeding, grooming, etc., but also exciting and fun dog walks on the beach or in the forest. Living with pets is not just a question take care of their basic needs (even if you do too), but giving them the best possible quality of life. Give them as much a game at a time and cuddle time as possible. If you have not had your dog neutered, book the appointment immediately.

6. Register / Create a local group of animal rights – Investigate whether there is an animal rights group in your local area. If you find nothing to steps to start your own group.

7. Online Activism – If you are active in all social groups online such as Facebook, MySpace or Twitter, add links to animal rights organizations in your profile. You can also add links in your email signature. You can also join groups of animals posted on Facebook where you can meet people with similar ideas and share ideas. It is also an excellent way to spread the message to your friends online who do not know much about the rights of animals.

8. Go Shopping – We all love an excuse to shop and is the perfect opportunity. Invest in some T-shirts, buttons, stickers, bags or other accessories that have a message anti-cruelty. They are available from many charities and online retailers.

9. Help Wildlife – Lest We Forget not our wild neighbors. If you have a garden to buy / make an array of birds and hang bird feeders. This is particularly important in the months Winter cold. Not only will you be helping the wildlife, you can also get an excellent opportunity to watch your local wildlife from the comfort of your own home. You can also plant flowers and native plants to attract butterflies and insects. If you have free time and I really want help, you can join a group rescuing wildlife like the son here in Australia. 10. Boycotting businesses that test on animals – Many cosmetics and household products are cruelly tested on animals. Fortunately there are some great animal environmentally friendly alternatives.
