Using Taltopia.com To Network And Find Gigs

As recording artists and entertainers, no one has to tell the new generation of the music world that any place that can help them find a paying gig is a welcome resource.  Unfortunately, up until the last few years, there haven’t been a whole lot of resources like this come forward and announce their presence.

As the world turns into a digital neighborhood, entertainers, including musicians and singers, have a greater amount of access to the public and their peers through social networking and other online endeavors.  This common neighborhood has sparked a new wave of resources for those working in the entertainment field and this is especially true for those involved with music.

Simply click on the Castings tab and check out the available casting calls.  Using the search feature for music casting calls, you can narrow your search down to include only your specific instrument or results for singers.  You can even narrow it down to paying gigs within five miles of your home zip code.  Then simply find the opening your interested in and make contact with the poster.  Finding gigs is much easier when the venue owner is looking for a performer so you should see a lot less rejection using this kind of platform.

Is it perfect? No.  Is it worth trying to advance your music career?  Definitely.  Even with the occasional glitches, (Site components down for maintenance being the most common problem.) a free resource that can help you hone your skills, make industry contacts and find gigs is a tool you obviously don’t want to pass up.
